Adding lighting to your wedding reception is the easiest way to impress your guests. Décor lighting can transform a simple room into an elegant and beautiful space, or enhance the décor in any lavishly decorated ballroom. How much or how little to add? This is where style, budget, and imagination come in. There are many different styles of lighting that produce different effects.
A few up lights to frame the sweetheart and cake tables is a great start. You could opt to accent any columns, arches, or the entire perimeter with lights in your favorite color. This is a very effective way to make sure that your guests get the “Wow” factor when they walk in.
You may c
hoose to have your floral centerpieces lit from above. This is known as pin- spotting and adds a nice touch to each table. Monograms or custom image gobos are also a popular option. You can have your name, initials, family crest, or any design projected on the dance floor, or on the wall above your sweetheart table. In addition, you can have several “breakup” patterns projected on the ceiling to add an extra layer of texture or depth to your reception.
Other lights can be used to spotlight your first dance and all the special events. These spotlights help create a formal atmosphere. They also help to make your pictures look spectacular. Another option, if you are having an outdoor reception, is to add Italian style market lights. These strings of lights are used for outdoor area lighti
ng, but also add a traditional flair to your event.
If having some form of décor lighting isn’t an option for you, don’t forget the candles! Displaying candles and votives of different sizes and shapes on your tables and around the venue will make a tremendous impact on the ambiance of your wedding. Sometimes just the candles are enough to make your reception beautiful. However, adding subtle decorative lighting is a great way to set your wedding apart from others.

We have been so lucky to have had Wendy Walker with our staff since 2006. She is a fantastic member of our team and has a presence on and off stage like no other. She has been known to get crowds of 10 to 1000 up out of their seats and enjoying the party.
Check her out in this Video clip talking about what she does.

We are so honored to be a part of a large event that is being hosted by Nanele Baker at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in San Pedro.
Our team will be setting up the lighting for this event and we will be sure to share some of our pictures afterwards on our facebook page.
This is a one of a kind hotel that is a sight to behold with an enchanting locale and beautiful grounds that includes oppulent pools, manicured lawns and it’s very own marina.

The views from the hotel at night are just breathtaking to say the least.
IF you are looking for a perfect place to have a conference, host a bridal tea, celebrate a Birthday, or have a dream wedding this is one amazing location with a staff that is there to cater to your every need.
For the last few weeks, after Disneyland has closed its gates for the night, a team of workers, including divers, has labored through into the morning in Frontierland and New Orleans Square, ferrying building materials to Tom Sawyer Island and sinking support structures into the floor of the surrounding “river.”
Meanwhile, at corporate headquarters, Laura-Lee Hartung has been combing through her list of a select 700 guests, checking such details as whether Disneyland’s catering chef has prepared a menu that meets the needs of a visiting girl with certain food allergies. And Kevin Frawley has been lining up a cast of nearly 100 musical acts and other entertainers for a one-time-only show with a pirate theme.
The Walt Disney Co. has done hundreds of movie premieres through the decades, including several at the Anaheim park, but perhaps nothing quite like the extravaganza that will accompany the first public showing Saturday night of “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” projected in 3-D onto a giant screen on Tom Sawyer Island. In addition to the care and feeding of some 2,000 guests (the 700 who bought tickets at $1,000 each — proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of America — plus 1,300 invitees), seeing to the safety of the estimated 25,000 fans who will line the black (not red) carpet along Main Street for a chance to wave at stars Johnny Depp, Penélope Cruz and others, there are special issues connected to an outdoor showing of a 3-D movie.
Nearly 500 employees have been preparing for the premiere for more than a year, before director Rob Marshall shot the first frame of the film. For Hartung, in charge of ticketing and guest communications, Frawley, head of entertainment and talent, and 16 other Disney department heads, it’s been a period of being “joined at the hip, well, at the BlackBerry,” said Mike Kern, vice president of special events for production.
Their headquarters is a claustrophobic room crammed with blueprints, planning photos and mock-ups. They’ve dubbed it “the war room” and like officers at the Pentagon, they know how to keep their secrets, including how they decide who gets invitations and where they are seated (a dart board is involved, says one planner, quickly explaining that he’s joking) and how much the whole thing costs. Still, in a recent interview, key members of the team talked about some of what went into planning the first big, splashy premiere of the summer movie season.
A lot of effort was put into adapting the previously used outdoor screening set up at Disneyland to the demands of 3-D.
“The viewing angle for 3-D is narrower than what you get for 2-D,” explained Kern. A narrower viewing area meant that the seating area had to be extended over the water, hence the need for the divers. Chief projection engineer Kevin Rosenberger needed a crane to set his projector on a 30-foot high perch separate from the seating.
“We make sure that the structure the booth is on is separate from the bleachers, so as our guests move back and forth they aren’t going to affect the projection,” says Rosenberger. The screen itself is 10 stories wide and six stores tall and is placed nearly four stories above the water line. And when the lights go down, they won’t be kidding around; nearly 10,000 lights will be turned off inside the park when the movie begins.
Before the park goes dark, premiere patrons will be treated to a lavish party that includes easy access to the park’s rides and a special menu of salmon, five-bean salad, mixed baby greens and baked sage derby mac ‘n’ cheese. The food will be served at restaurants on the west side of the park, which will be closed to other guests beginning in midafternoon.

We were really excited to get the oppurtunity to do this really cool Biz Bash After Party. It was presented by Elite OC Productions at the Pacific Electric Lofts in downtown Los Angeles. SOme people would wonder what Invisible Touch would be doing at an event like this, right? Well we lit up some AMAZING creations by Marc Entin of ICE BULB. Who would have ever thought of the wickedly creative things that could be done with ice until this night. They weren’t your average sculptures of ice, these were ICE CURTAINS! I know what you are thinking but Yes, the entire curtain was made of ice. There was a fantastic attendance at this event and from what we have heard back from the production company the curtains really stood out and were the subject of much of the conversations. We look forward to seeing what else Marc has up his sleeves and from a block of ice and look forward to working with him again.

We are excited to announce Invisible Touch Events has been chosen to receive the Bride’s Choice Awards™ 2011. This award recognizes the top 5 percent of local wedding professionals from the WeddingWire Network who demonstrate quality and service excellence in the wedding industry. If it were not for the wonderful staff and amazing clients that we work with on a daily basis we would not have won this honor. We are thrilled, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
What a party to throw for your mother’s birthday, but Karen’s daughter did just that and we celebrated her 50th birthday at the Torrance Marriott on Fashion Way on December 31st. What a way to not only celebrate 50 and Fabulous but also New Year’s Eve! Our team at Invisible Touch worked with the great team at the Marriott to help make this a night that Karen would not soon forget. Fusion Linens transformed the Terrace Ballroom into a High End Lounge Club complete with Pipe and Drape Cabanas that had blackjack tables inside and cool hip lounge furniture throughout the entire event space. There was a huge white dance floor with wonderful lighting throughout. And talk about food, it was to die for. With all the amazing talent that came together to put on this amazing party for Karen it was in a word Spectacular!

Saturday December 18th we found ourselves in a Winter Wonderland at the St Regis in Monarch Beach for the Mission Hospital Gala. It was a Spectacular event for which we provided lighting.
As guests entered the Gala they were greeted by this beautiful entryway where we added a few snowflakes to the mix. Once they came into the ballroom they were drenched in a purple for that starry night feel of a winter wonderland with the stars twinkling on the ceiling.
We had the pleasure of working with the Wayne Foster Orchestra. They provided their stage lighting while we did a little up lighting around the room to bring in a little extra flair.
This event was truly magnificent and all that attended felt like they truly were in a Winter Wonderland.
The event for Mercedes was off the hook! Invisible Touch combined with Asher Entertainment http://asherentertainment.com, DJ Angeline at www.djangeline.com, Elite OC productions at www.eliteocproductions.com, and TPSN Productions at www.tpsnproductions.com to pull the whole thing off in a style that was like none other.
We were able to transform the Grand Ballroom in the Hyatt Huntington Beach into the most amazing Holiday party for Mercedes. There were girls dangling from the ceiling and dancing all over the place and guys in top hats wandering around getting everyone into the mood to dance and have a good time.
Asher Entertainment provided specialty dancers and cirque performers that were not only beautiful but talented and fun to watch. DJ Angeline was there to spin the music and boy was she able to get the music crankin’ and had everyone out of their seats and dancing the night away. Elite OC Productions did the neon led centerpieces for the tables that the guests sat at when they were taking a break from the dance floor.
TPSN Productions did the dance stages where the specialty dancers hung out and entertained all night long. We at Invisible Touch provided the lighting and stage backdrop scrims for the dancers that flanked the DJ booth. The entire night would have not been such a success without the work of all of these talented businesses’ coming together and working their respective magic.
We just hope that the attendees had as much fun as we did!
