Marina High School Choir Presents Anything Goes

“In olden days a glimpse of stocking was looked on as something shocking, but now, God knows, anything goes!”-   (Reno Sweeney, Anything Goes)From February 23rd- 25th.  Invisible Touch  had the pleasure of attending the performances of Marina High School Choir’s smashing musical, Anything Goes.  It was a sincere treat to be entertained by a fantastic group of talented young people.  This amazing show was a fantastic display of vocal, dance, dramatic, and instrumental talent! The age-old tale of Boy-Meets-Girl and the complications which ensue intrigue every audience, and no musical puts it on stage better than Anything Goes . This show is an amusing story wrapped around one of Cole Porter’s magical scores. Terrific Cole Porter songs in both versions include It’s De-Lovely, Friendship, I Get A Kick Out Of You, All Through The Night, Anything Goes,  Take Me Back To Manhattan and Let’s Misbehave.  It’s a wonder that all the romances are sorted out and disaster is averted aboard the magical ship where ANYTHING GOES!

Under the stage direction of Shannon Graham and Vocal & Orchestra direction of Eric Graham, this classic musical about the USS American bound for London was brought the small stage in a large way.  Daniel Arthur (son of Invisible Touch’s president Robert Arthur) stole the stage as “Billy Crocker”, the love struck would be suitor to “Hope Harcourt”.  Hope is an American debutante played by Hayley Womack and Kimberly Younger.  Shannon Graham played the scandalous “Reno Sweeney”, an evangelist turned nightclub singer and an old friend of Billy’s.  A second rate gangster by the name of “Moonface Martin” (played by Aaron Wilson) and his sidekick, “Bonnie Latoue” (played by Alexis Slear) rounded out the main players of this unstoppable cast.

Invisible Touch was delighted to once again work with this incredible choir and phenomenal group kids.  We would love to congratulate them on a incredible show!  We look forward to working with them in the future and wish them luck on their all of their future endeavors and performances.

Hot Trends for Your Wedding Menu and Another Great Open House

When most people think of wedding food, they think of the three traditional choices: beef, chicken, or seafood. Your wedding celebration should be a reflection of your and your fiance’s personalities. There is nothing in the wise Book of Wedding Knowledge that mandates that your personalities have to be limited to a bland or dry catered entree. When your friends, and loved ones look back on your wedding menu you should hope that they remember a meal filled with fun, creativity; and most importantly, love. Invisible Touch has a few of the top wedding food trends of 2012. Hopefully they will inspire you to create a wedding reception menu that expresses all the love and personality that embodies your new marriage.

Make it mini

Miniature desserts and tastings are a fun way to end your wedding on a sweet note. Try shot glasses with decadent mousses or parfaits, cake lollipops, spoonfuls of Creme Brulee, mini whoopie pies….the sky is the limit! Set it up buffet style or pass them on trays.

Get comfy
Comfort foods are a popular trend. Soup bars are making appearances at fall and winter weddings. Feature hearty clam chowder at a seaside wedding or pumpkin bisque in hollowed out mini pumpkins at a fall reception. How about a mashed potato bar? Guests can top mashed potatoes served in martini glasses with freshly grated cheeses, bacon crumbles, chives, steamed veggies, and gravy.

Meals on wheels
Food trucks are the latest rage for late night snacks – ice cream, donuts, tacos, BBQ and more. A hot way to get the after-party started! Conduct an online search for “food truck catering” in your area!

Make it personal
Personalize your menu around your favorite foods or foods that have special meaning to you and your fiancee as a couple (such as your first date meal or foods from trips you have taken together). Create a “his” and “hers” dessert table featuring your favorites and his favorites or family recipes from the bride’s side and the groom’s side (such as your grandma’s famous carrot cake).

Marina High School’s Choir Takes the Stage with Unstoppable Talent

“Some people think music education is a privilege, but I think it’s essential to being human.”
- Jewel – singer, songwriter, and instrumentalistMusic Education programs help foster creativity,  intelligence, and a deeper sense of self esteem in young people from all economic and geographical backgrounds.  It is a proven fact that children who are exposed to some form of music education do better in school, have a higher level of self worth, and are even more coordinated.  These children are less likely to do drugs, or drop out of school.  Music Education programs help mold our next generation of artists, and leaders.

Invisible Touch has been honored to work with the Marina High School Choir Department over the last few years.  Marina High School is located in Huntington Beach, and has the distinct reputation of being one of the best high school choirs in the state of California.  Under the direction of Mr. Eric Graham, the choir has performed in locations ranging from San Fransisco to Rome, Italy, and even China.   Most recently, the choir was asked to preform as Disneyland’s Carnation Choir. Each year the Marina High School Choir produces and performs a musical.  This year the choir will be treating their audience to a production of “Anything Goes”.   This show promises to be an incredible showcase of superb musical talent.  Daniel Arthur, son of Robert, is a Senior and member of Marina High School’s Advanced Choir.  He has been cast as “Billy” (one of the shows lead character).  We at Invisible Touch could not be more proud of Daniel’s musical accomplishments.  Performances  are nightly from February 23rd-25th with a matinee at 2:00pm on the 25th.   You can purchase your tickets for $13.00 online at www.marinatickets.com.   Please join us as we support these talented young people.

Invisible Touch’s History Started with Great Clients

Every event that we do at Invisible Touch is special.  While every client holds a  place in our heart, occasionally we come across a client that becomes a part of our family.  A family comes together to celebrate milestones in life and help us lay the foundation and roots that help us build our history.  We, at Invisible Touch, are honored to be able to call Carlos Pueblos a member of our family, and we were ecstatic to celebrate his  60th birthday at The Reef Restaurant in Long Beach on Saturday, January 21, 2012.

Robert Arthur, President of Invisible Touch,  first became acquainted with Carlos’ sister,  Yvonne Ugabe, in 1986 while working as an academic advisor at a local university.  Yvonne brought Robert on board to DJ a New Years Eve party in 1988 for 200 people at the Sycamore Plaza. Since that party Invisible Touch has been taken in part in twelve events with the Pueblos family that include four more New Years Eve parties and five family weddings. We have also had the privilege of acting as entertainment for three of Carlos’ birthdays. One was his 50th birthday in 2002 where the New England Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Raiders, and went on to win their first Super Bowl.

For Carlos’ 60th birthday, his family and friends gathered at The Reef Restaurant in Long Beach.  Uniquely situated on the water in Long Beach with spectacular views of the Long Beach skyline, The Reef Restaurant is an ideal location for Corporate Events, Weddings, Socials, Themed Events or Private Parties, and has served as the venue for three of Carlos’ birthday celebrations.    While Robert has stepped down from acting as DJ at events he made a special appearance, and entertained the many family and friends that gathered together to celebrate Carlos.

We would love to wish Carlos a Happy Birthday!  May you have many more years of happiness with your friends and loved ones. We would also like to thank Carlos Pueblos and his family for including Invisible Touch in so many of their memorable family events.  We look forward to, hopefully, helping you celebrate many more milestones.

If you would like for Invisible Touch to help you host your next Wedding, Birthday, or Family Reunion please give us a call at 949-450-9950.  We would love to tell you how our award winning team can help you make your event a beautiful affair that your friends and family will talk about for years to come.

Wedding Trends at Our Bridal Open House January 24, 2012

Floral design and beautiful table settings are an important part of any reception. With all of the  trends gracing the pages of popular wedding magazines and websites it is very easy to become overwhelmed with all of the choices being offered to brides.  Invisible Touch wants to make your wedding planning experience a joyous and pleasurable one. We have three of the top table setting and floral design trends that are currently hot for 2012 weddings.

Vintage

More and more couples are opting for a vintage look, incorporating older family photos; sepia photos of themselves, vintage frames and handwritten place and menu cards. Everything that was once old is new again.  Using ecru or light pink colored lace linens with high, silver candle sticks will give you that elegant, old world feel.   Centerpieces of Porcelana Roses, Irises, Lavender, or even Daises will make your guests feel as if they are dining in a Victorian garden.

Modern Rustic
Tightly packed, fully arranged blooms that are lush, and arranged in a more textured, compact way. The way that the flowers are arranged versus the container they are arranged in is what makes the difference. Hold on to those mason jars, but instead of having a few stems idly leaning against the side, they will be arranged in abundance.  The lacey look of  Baby’s Breath paired with a rustic branch will add a beautiful contrast to your centerpieces.   This trend is the perfect chance for you to incorporate all of your favorite blooms from childhood such as Sunflowers, Gerber Daises, and Peonies.   In an interesting twist, Brides and Floral Designers are adding unconventional items like cotton branches and feathers to their tablescapes.

Patterned Everything

The linens used to be decided after flowers were chosen. Not anymore. Using intricate graphics and patterns on linens, dresses, and everything in between is the hot trend. The flowers will instead accent the linens.Event Designers have  fallen crazy in love with using clean, structural elements in their designs for the 2012 season. Super modern, clean lines will rule this trend. When working with patterns, single exotics, such as orchids  in bud vases and neatly arranged rows of flowers is key when working with eye-catching patterns.Invisible Touch is an award winning, event design house.  We work with fabulous vendors such like Flowers by Cina and Fusion Linens to create memorable events for beautiful couples.  On Tuesday, January 24th, we are hosting a Bridal Open House at our office located at 9781 Irvine Center Drive, Irvine, CA, 92618.  This is a great chance for Brides and Grooms to experience all the great services that Invisible Touch has to offer.  On this night, guests will be able to see the exciting trends for 2012 weddings and audition our fantastic DJs and Emcees all while being offered some fabulous discounts.

This event kicks off at 7:00pm with a Cocktail Hour of canapes and select cocktails.   At 7:45pm guests will be able to treated to an entertaining presentation with the evening wrapping up around 10:00pm.  Be sure to claim your spot by filling out our “Contact Us” form or by calling our office at 949-450-9950  because space in limited.    Are you unable to make it to this great event?  Well, we would still love to show you what we can do to make you wedding simple spectacular.  Give Invisible Touch a call, and let us help you into making your wedding into a beautiful and amazing event!

Upcoming Wedding Trends for 2012

Fusing Bright Colors with Neutrals
While bright colors were huge on the catwalk this summer, neutrals were the elegant alternative.
For 2012, lots of  stylish brides will be fusing bright and neutral color. Neutral colors provide a fantastic base for an accent of a beautiful bright color. Don’t be afraid to use a pop of bright yellow, aqua or coral but pair them with soft neutral tones such as greys, taupes and lattés to create an effortlessly chic style for your wedding.Victoriana
Thanks to the ever popular Twilight Saga, Victorian wedding dresses are also going to be a huge trend for the 2012 bridal season. Get the look by incorporating this trend into your wedding styling and bring in a hint of Victoriana with elegant damask prints, vintage tableware and ornate floral displaysOutdoor and Rustic Settings
Outdoor weddings have been becoming increasingly popular throughout the last couple of years and this trend looks set to continue into 2012. With the unpredictable weather you need nerves of steel and a great back up plan, however when it all comes together the results are spectacular.  Beautiful gardens, State parks, and even country fields were the stage for many gorgeous weddings in 2011, and that is also the prediction for 2012.   Accent the natural beauty of your outdoor venue with a pop of color in your floral design or a romantic drape of fabric.

Be sure to stop by the Invisible Touch booth while at one of our upcoming shows or Open House, and meet members of our award winning team!   We look forward to seeing you there.
